All permit holders must take a road test to get a license. The NJMVC needs you to schedule a test appointment.
You can book your appointment online at www.NJMVC.gov.
Once you schedule a road test appointment, it becomes an official appointment with the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission.
Whether you use our Road Test Service or choose to drive your own car, here are some things to expect and some things you’ll need to be prepared for on test day.
NJMVC requires ID for testing, 6 points of ID, and proof of address when applying for a driver’s license.
At the testing site, the licensed driver accompanying the permit driver must show his/her license, registration card, and proof of insurance (original card, no copies) for the testing vehicle.
The carused for the road test needs to be clean and in good running condition. All lights, signals, and windshield wipers must be working.
"ROAD-TEST-DAY" PROGRAM
We offer a “Road Test Prep Service” on the road test day. We will pick up the student from home or school before the road test.
Most students who have attended our school already had a road test scheduled.
Before the road test, we will allow the student to become comfortable driving the school car on the way to the Motor Vehicle.
In addition, our instructor will prepare the student for all the major points of the road test: Parallel parking, K-turn, going in reverse in a straight line for about 50 – 100 feet, and go over some of the do’s and don’ts on the road test.
After the student passes the road test, we will assist in obtaining the student’s license and return the student to either home or home school.
